APPOINTMENT
OF NEW DIRECTOR - OYS THRUSTERS
Ian has the full backing and support of the Board and existing staff in this appointment, to ensure that the high technical standards set by OYS extend into the future. Ian and his team are well qualified and prepared to provide the levels of technical service and support required by OYS Customers. With nearly 20 years of bow thruster experience to his name, having started at Richfield Bow Thrusters who first introduced retracting bow thrusters to the marine industry, Ian is ideally qualified to lead OYS in this field. Ian has extensive experience of Design, Production, Project Management and Sales within the Marine Industry having previously worked for Camper & Nicholson yachts and providing consultancy to the Nautor Group amongst others. Ultimately responsible for all aspects of the Division, Ian will work closely with Customers to develop new leading edge solutions for increasingly demanding applications. Ian has already overseen successful delivery of several major thrusters projects for OYS Thrusters including a retractable 24BTM/H bow thruster for the world's largest (75M) Sloop Mirabella V, whose first significant test with the new thruster was to successfully dock the boat into Monaco harbour for the Grand Prix. Ian is tasked with expanding the present range of available products and related control equipment for vessels ranging from 20 to 100 metres, whilst streamlining costs and improving general efficiency within the Division. Further additions to the team will be announced shortly. These will enhance OYS Thrusters ability to provide its customers with some of the best technical experience in the business, backed by a committed, reliable and responsive organisation.
