OYS APPOINT NEW SALES DIRECTOR

Mark Barwell, who joined Ocean Yacht Systems in 2005, has just been promoted to the Board of OYS as Sales Director.

Mark has a great depth of knowledge of the superyacht rigging industry. He has been involved in the research and development of many new systems, including PBO high tensile cables, which are now respected as a major step forward in performance yacht rigging.

Formerly in charge of sales and servicing, this new appointment expands his role and responsibilities, and enables him to develop new market and business opportunities. In the rapidly expanding composite and rod rigging markets for superyachts, OYS have established an enviable reputation for quality and efficiency and Mark will be building on these elements to maintain their leading position in the market.

Mark said, “With demands from owners and designers for increased performance, OYS have maintained a proactive approach, by investing in the development of new products. This is illustrated by our introduction of PBO cable for reduced weight rigging systems whether for new build or retrofit conversions, or even a new range of bow thrusters. OYS servicing and retrofit packages are very competitive over the life of the rigging and we are constantly looking at new engineering solutions to provide weight and cost savings.”
