Thruster Package for Sparkman and Stephens

OYS has just signed a unique primary drive system and bow thruster for a Sparkman and Stephens designed yacht now under construction at Lyman Morse Boatyard in Maine, USA. The yacht will feature a unique OYS designed 45hp hydraulic steerable primary drive unit. This will be coupled to an OYS vertical retracting bow thruster allowing for accurate joystick control during the most difficult of manoeuvres.

Commenting on the project, OYS Director of Thrusters, Ian Crowden said: “We have worked very closely with the Sparkman & Stephens office in New York to help develop a unique compact and lightweight primary drive unit that replaces a traditional shaft drive configuration.”
