Project Manager vacancy at OYS

Ocean Yacht Systems (OYS) are looking for a project manager to join their forward thinking dynamic team based in Christchurch UK. The successful candidate will deliver projects to a high standard, on time and within budget.  

The role will involve responsibility for the management of all thruster and hydraulic projects from the acceptance of the order, through to delivery and installation. Working closely with the Thruster and Hydraulics Technical Director, the applicant should possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a project management or a project leader’s role with a background or qualifications in engineering is essential.

OYS are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills who can liaise regularly with clients and client’s representatives through all aspects of project specifications, order progression and logistic information.  This is an important role in providing excellent customer service to OYS’s existing and potential clients.

The candidate should be a self motivated team player, with good multi-tasking skills and an ability to take ownership and accountability for their workload. Time management and excellent decision making skills are essential.   

Tasks of the role include creating accurate project plans, working within budget, managing client’s expectation, creating new parts, generating bill of materials and routings and working closely in conjunction with the production and build teams to ensure on time completion on tight deadlines.

OYS work extensively overseas so a willingness to travel is essential.
